Captain Anne Clark was born in Whittier, California, and raised in Los Angeles County. She is the product of 12 years of Catholic primary and secondary education. Captain Clark is a graduate of the University of Southern California, and holds a Bachelors and Masters degree in Public Administration.
Gang and Narcotics Division
Captain Clark joined the Los Angeles Police Department in 1986. As a police officer she was assigned to 77th Street, Southwest, Hollywood, and Harbor Areas, where she worked both patrol and vice. Captain Clark promoted to the rank of detective in 1994 and was assigned to Narcotics Group – Field Enforcement Section. In 1995 Captain Clark promoted to the rank of sergeant, and worked Hollenbeck, Hollywood, and Internal Affairs Division. Her assignments included supervising specialized units, Hollywood Vice, and the Advocate Section of Internal Affairs.
In 2002 Captain Clark promoted to the rank of lieutenant and was assigned to 77th Street Area. She went on to spend four years as the detective commanding officer in Southeast Area, a defining assignment in her career. She was also the detective commanding officer in Harbor Area, before being assigned to Robbery Homicide Division, where she was the officer in charge of Robbery Special Section. A brief assignment as the detective commanding officer of West Los Angeles Area was followed by Captain Clark’s movement to Internal Affairs Group, where she was the Officer in Charge of Administrative Investigation Section – Central, and the Workplace Investigation Section.
Captain Clark is a graduate of the Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute (SLI) and LAPD’s Westpoint Leadership Program. She is a member of the Latin American Law Enforcement Association (La Ley), and the Los Angeles Women Police Officers and Associates (LAWPOA).
Captain Clark was promoted to the rank of captain in January 2012 and assigned to Harbor Patrol Division. She returned to 77th Street Area as the Patrol Commanding Officer in March 2013.
