Community Problems Unit
The Community Problems Unit (CPU) is a part of the Special Enforcement Section of Detective Support and Vice Division. The duties of CPU include assisting Area vice units in nuisance investigations, conducting task forces, and ongoing operations at adult entertainment establishments throughout the City. It also includes addressing community concerns in public forums, providing nuisance abatement training and updates to Department personnel as well as to those in the business community, and to function as liaison between a myriad of inside and outside entities and Area vice units. The liaison duties include attending regular meetings with the Department Vice Coordinator, Bureau Vice Coordinators, Area vice unit officers-in-charge and representatives from outside agencies.
