email Captain Paul Weber, a 34
year veteran with LAPD, is originally from Inglewood, California.
He holds a Master's degree in Executive Leadership from the
University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Science degree
in Criminal Justice Management from The Union Institute and
University. In addition, Captain Weber holds a Certificate in
Police Union Leadership from Harvard University and Certificate in

Kennedy School Malcolm Wiener Center for Social Policy, Captain
Weber worked on an ambitious project confirming that challenges
faced by policing today are vastly different and more complicated
than those faced a generation ago.

Captain Weber has worked with the LAPD on a variety of field and
administrative assignments in all four of its regional Bureaus.
Most notably, he was a Police Officer II at Foothill, 77th Street,
Van Nuys and Rampart Patrol. As a Police Officer III at Van Nuys,
he was a field training officer and also assigned to the Gang Unit
until he promoted to Patrol Sergeant in Hollywood, and was later
assigned to Personnel Group.

Captain Weber has a strong background in public safety labor
management issues. For 11 years, he was a Director with the Los
Angeles Police Protective League, the union that represents nearly
10,000 dedicated professional sworn members of the Los Angeles
Police Department, and ultimately served as the Union President for
several years.

In 2013, Captain Weber was promoted to Lieutenant Watch Commander
at West Valley Station and was later selected to be the adjutant to
the Deputy Chief of Operations-Valley Bureau.

In 2015, as adjutant to the Director of Office of Operations,
Captain Weber assisted with uniformed operations city-wide and
coordinated the Department's anti-crime initiatives to maximize
effectiveness in dealing with crime and social disorder.

In 2017, Captain Weber was selected as the Commanding Officer of
Topanga Area Detectives where he was responsible for supervising
detectives, the crime reduction unit, civilian professional staff,
and community volunteers.

Captain Weber is family oriented and active in his community. He is
married with seven children and four grandchildren. In his spare
time, he volunteers in his Community and is involved with his
church.
