23-Year-Old Man Killed While Driving His Motorcycle

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department is asking for the public’s help in searching for additional witnesses who saw a traffic accident killing a 23-year-old resident of North Hills.

On October 30, 2009, at around 9:50 a.m., 23-year-old Raul Magana was traveling on his motorcycle eastbound on Parthenia Srteet at Etiwanda Avenue.  He hit the rear end of a Toyota pick-up truck as it was exiting a private parking lot making a left turn westbound on Parthenia Street.  Magana was thrown from his motorcycle and landed on the pavement.  The 42-year-old driver of the truck immediately stopped and called 911 as required by law.  

Raul Magana was pronounced dead at scene from his injuries by the Los Angeles Fire Department.  

Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact Valley Traffic Division, Detective W. Bustos at 818-644-8021.  During off-hours, calls may be directed to a 24-hour, toll-free number at1-877-LAPD-24-7 (527-3247).  Callers may also text “Crimes” with a cell phone or log on to www.lapdonline.org and click on Web tips. When using a cell phone, all messages should begin with “LAPD.”  Tipsters may remain anonymous.
