Suspects Arrested in Porter Ranch Triple Homicide NR19156dm

On February 18, 2019, at 3:50 p.m, Los Angeles Police Department Devonshire Division officers responded to a radio call of shots fired at a residence in the 20300 Block of Via Galileo, a gated community in Porter Ranch. Upon arrival, officers discovered three men shot inside the residence. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics pronounced all three men dead at scene due to gunshot wounds.

The victims were identified as Gary Davidson, 39 years of age, a resident of the house on Via Galileo, Benny Lopez, 46 years of age, a resident of Anaheim, California, and Jesus Perez, 34 years of age, a resident of Perris, California

Robbery-Homicide Division (RHD) assumed investigative responsibility for the homicide investigation. Over the past three and a half months, RHD detectives worked closely with the Maryland State Police, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the United States Postal Inspectors Service to identify the persons responsible for the murders. On June 5, 2019, arrest and search warrants were served in Baltimore County, Maryland, and Durham, North Carolina.

Travis Reid, 40 years of age, and a resident of Randallstown, Maryland, was arrested on three counts of murder with special circumstances. He is being held in Maryland, without bail, pending extradition to Los Angeles. Chaquetta Cook, 40 years of age, and a resident of Baltimore, Maryland, was arrested for one count of murder and is being held on $2,000,000 bail in Maryland, pending extradition to Los Angeles. Kenneth Peterson, 40 years of age, and a resident of Durham, North Carolina was arrested for three counts of murder with special circumstances and is being held without bail in Maryland, pending extradition to Los Angeles.
