Son Arrested After Murdering His Parents

LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE
Monday, February 8, 1999

On Thursday, February 4, 1999, 7:15 p.m., a double homicide occurred on the 4500 block of Paulhan Avenue in the Eagle Rock area of Los Angeles.

Northeast Area patrol officers responded to an ADW call and discovered the decedents, Jose and Rosemary Quintana, ages 47 and 49, respectively, inside a bedroom. Los Angeles City Fire Department Paramedics responded and pronounced death.

Subsequently the investigation revealed, the decedents' daughter arrived home and discovered her brother, Paul Quintana, age 24, inside the residence. He informed her of the parents' demise and then fled the location.

On Friday, February 5, 1999, at 12:45 p.m., concerned citizens flagged down Los Angeles School Police Officers and advised that suspect Paul Quintana was walking in the 1300 block of Armadale Avenue of the Eagle Rock area. Quintana was arrested without incident and transported to Northeast Station. The investigation is continuing by Northeast Area Detectives.
