Teacher Assaulted

LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE
Tuesday, February 2, 1999

On February 1, 1999, at 6:30 AM, the principal of Burton Elementary School, a male, sixty-five years old, was exiting his vehicle in front of the elementary school. He was approached by two male Hispanics who began to make verbal threats and proceeded to hit him with their closed fists. A sharp object was placed to the neck of the victim. The victim lost consciousness and the suspects fled in an unknown direction. The victim received cuts and bruises as a result from the assault.

Van Nuys Detectives are investigating this incident as a possible Hate Crime. Any questions regarding the school please refer to :
