Three Teens Shot in Harbor Area

Thursday, February 3, 2000

THREE TEENS SHOT IN HARBOR AREA

On Tuesday, February 2, 2000, at approximately 9:13 p.m., three teenagers were shot while walking in the 300 block of Santa Cruz Street, San Pedro, California. A male suspect, in an unknown type of vehicle, confronted the victims. Words were exchanged, the suspect pulled out a weapon, aand shot all three victims. Victim 1, described as a male, Black, 16 years of age, collapsed at the scene and was pronounced dead by The Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics. Victim 2, described as a male, Black, 17 years of age and Victim 3, described as a male, Black, 16 years of age, ran from the scene and collapsed to the rear of the 100 block of Mesa Street, San Pedro, California. Victims 2 and 3 were transported to a local hospital where they are listed in stable condition.

The suspect is as a male, with no further description. The motive for the shooting is unknown.

In 1999, Harbor Area recorded a total of 20 homicides. Since January 1, 2000, Harbor Area has had 9 homicides.
