Man Shot During Argument

LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE
Tuesday, February 8, 2000

Rampart Homicide Detectives are investigating the shooting death of a male Hispanic 28 years of age.

On February 4, 2000 at approximately 4:45 PM, the victim was at the southwest corner of Beacon Street and 7th Street. There he exchanged words with the suspect, a male Hispanic 18/20 years old. The suspect produced a handgun and shot the victim multiple times. The suspect fled on foot. The victim was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital where he succumbed to his wounds.

The motive for this crime appears to be gang related. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending the notification the next of kin.
