LAPD Recruitment Section to be Featured at the Annual Black History Month

Friday, February 25, 2000


Los Angeles: On Saturday, February 26, 2000, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the Los Angeles Police Department, in partnership with the Crenshaw Christian Center, will hold its annual Black History Month Festival at the Crenshaw Christian Center. This day will be a day of entertainment, great food, panel discussions, and a special appearance by Police Chief Bernard C. Parks.

There will be static displays depicting the various specialized units within the Department, and guests will be given the opportunity to examine the various weapons and equipment used on a daily basis by the LAPD personnel. A panel discussion will be presented by police officers of various ranks who will address the personal aspects and reward of choosing the respectable career. The 2000 Black History Month Festival will be held at the Crenshaw Christian Center, located at 7901 S. Vermont Ave. The Police Officer Written Test will be offered to interested individuals starting at 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
