Monday, February 7, 2000

Young Woman Killed by Bullets Fired Into Vehicle

On Saturday, February 5, 2000, at approximately 6:10 a.m., Yolonda Rodriguez, 28 years of age, was a passenger in a vehicle being driven southbound on Denker Avenue from Del Amo Blvd. The suspects, two males who were in close proximity to the vehicle, fired several gunshots into the vehicle in which the victim was riding, striking her in the upper body. The victim was transported by her companions to Harbor-UCLA General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The motive for the incident has not been determined and there are not any suspects in custody at this time.

The Los Angeles Police Department is seeking the assistance of the community, asking that any witness(es) contact Robbery-Homicide Detectives at 213-485-2129, or after business hours, Detective Headquarters Division at 213-485-2504.
