Shooting Leaves One Dead, One Wounded

 

Los Angeles - On Thursday afternoon, February 22, 2001, at approximately 1:10 pm, Lloyd Roberts, a 38 year old male black, was working on a car with a companion. The car was parked on the 2000 block of West 65th Street. Unknown suspect(s) armed with an unknown type firearm approached Roberts and his companion and fired several shots at them. Both Roberts and his companion sustained multiple gunshot wounds to their upper torso. The suspect(s) were last seen fleeing on a chrome mini bike southbound on Grammercy Place. Paramedics of the Los Angeles Fire Department responded and transported both victims to a local hospital. Victim Roberts failed to respond to treatment and died as a result of his injuries at 3:57 pm. The second victim is listed in stable condition.

The suspect(s) and weapon used are still being sought and the motive is unknown at this time.
