Los Angeles - On Tuesday, February 27, 2001, at 7:35 a.m., a 44-year-old female was found in the North alley of the 700 block of 13^th Street. She had sustained multiple stab wounds to the upper torso and responding paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene. Employees of a local business in the area discovered her behind a trash container.

The motive is unknown at this time and no suspects have been identified.

The identity of the victim is not available pending notification of next-of-kin.
