Priest Arrested For Child Molestation

 

What: News Conference

When: Wednesday, February 11, 2004, at 2:00 p.m.

Where: Parker Center, 150 North Los Angeles Street, Los Angeles

Who: Assistant Chief Jim McDonnell, Captain Charlie Beck, Commanding Officer, Rampart Area, Rampart Area Sex Crime Detectives

Los Angeles: On February 9, 2004, Los Angeles Police Department Detectives assigned to the Rampart Sex Crimes Unit, arrested Father Jaime Yong Patino for violation of Penal Code Section 288(A) PC-Lewd Acts with a child under 14 years of age.

This arrest was effected as a result of an on-going investigation involving Father Patino, which began in December of 2003.

This investigation is on going and the case against Father Patino has been presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for review.

A photograph of Father Patino will be made available during the news conference.

The Los Angeles Police Department is requesting that anyone who may have information in regard to this crime or this individual, to call Rampart Detectives, at 213-207-2155.
