Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s 77th Street Area Homicide Detectives are investigating a shooting incident that led to the death of Gregory John Gabriel, 12 years of age, and the wounding of two other persons.

On Sunday morning, February 15, 2004, at about 12:25 a.m., a gunman approached a group of people who were standing in front of the Western Club, located at 5710 South Western Avenue. The gunman pulled out a handgun and fired several rounds into the crowd. Gregory, a 13 year-old girl and a 26 year-old man were shot. Unfortunately, Gregory died from his injuries and the other two victims were taken to a local hospital where they are listed in critical but stable condition.

The gunman got way after the shooting in a white Honda or grey Toyota Camry. He was described as a Hispanic man in his early 20’s.

The motive is unknown.
