"Los Angeles Unified School District Music Teacher Arrested For Child Abuse"

Los Angeles: On February 20, 2004, at approximately 7:30 a.m., detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Abused Child Unit, Juvenile Division, arrested 51-year-old David Grant Gray at his home in North Hollywood. He was arrested on a felony warrant charging him with multiple counts of sexual abuse and physical abuse of children.
The alleged abuse occurred from 1998 to 2001, and involved two girls and one boy, who, at the time, were four to seven years old.
Gray has been a music teacher with the Los Angeles Unified School District since September of 2001, where he teaches music to elementary school-aged children. Gray also taught music and bible at Grace Community Church in Van Nuys from September 1994, through June 2001.
Gray remains in custody pending his arraignment on the charges. His bail has been set at $650,000.
Although the charges do not relate to his employment, Gray’s frequent contact with children raises concerns that there may be other victims.
