Residential Robbery Turns Fatal

 

Los Angeles: On February 19, 2004, at about 10:00 p.m., witnesses stated a male Hispanic approached a residence in the 600 block of East 43rd Place and attempted to gain entry. Pedro Garcia Sr., 61 years of age and his son, Pedro Garcia Jr. attempted to prevent the robber from entering. The suspect pulled out a handgun and a struggle between the suspect and Pedro Garcia Jr started. During this time, a second suspect appeared and fired several shots into the home. Pedro Garcia Sr. was struck by the gunfire.

Los Angeles City Fire Department Paramedics responded and transported Pedro Garcia Sr. to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Pedro Garcia Jr. sustained a gunshot wound to his lower torso and is listed in stable condition.
