Man Arrested for Felony Evading

Los Angeles : On Monday, February 7, 2005, at about 9:00 p.m., Leonel Ramirez, 25 years old, led Wilshire Area officers on an 89-minute high-speed pursuit into the City of Mission Viejo.

Ramirez, a resident of Los Angeles, was seen by the officers, who were on routine patrol near Oxford Avenue and James M. Wood Boulevard in Koreatown. The officers heard several shots fired and saw muzzle flashes in the area. Ramirez entered a double-parked 1994 Nissan Altima and drove away.

Ramirez refused to stop and the officers pursued him until he was taken into custody, with the assistance of Orange County Sheriff's Department deputies, near San Juan Capistrano.

Ramirez was arrested for Felony Evading and his bail was set at $75,000.00.
