Pedestrian Killed by Hit and Run Vehicle

Los Angeles: On Thursday, February 10, 2005, at about 4:25 p.m., a fatal hit and run traffic collision occurred at the intersection of Portland Avenue and Adams Boulevard.

A 38 year-old Hispanic man was crossing Portland Avenue within the marked crosswalk, when he was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound on Adams Boulevard. Witnesses said the vehicle, described as a black GMC Yukon or Denali, did not stop at the scene of the collision.

Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

The victim was a graduate student at the University of Southern California. His name is being withheld pending notification to his family.
