LAPD Academy Graduation

What:
LAPD Graduation of 41 new officers and a brief presentation on the upcoming Black History Month Recruitment Exposition

When:
February 3, 2006, at 8:30 a.m.
(Commander Garner's media availability)
Graduation will begin at 9:00 a.m.

Where:
LAPD Academy
1880 North Academy Drive
Elysian Park

Who:
Chief William J. Bratton
Representatives from the Mayor's Office and the
Board of Commissioners
Police Department Command Staff and their special guests

Why:
Graduating officers have completed 1,035 hours of training over the course of 32 weeks. There are 37 males and 4 females in the graduating class. The ethnic breakdown of the class is 17 Caucasians, 17 Hispanics, 1 Armenian, 1 Korean and 1 Filipino.

Commander Kenneth Garner will be available prior to the graduation to announce LAPD's Black History Month 3-day recruitment celebration and family carnival at Rancho Cienega Sports Center.
