One Killed, One Injured in Hit and Run

Los Angeles: Two pedestrians were struck by a car early this morning during a fatal hit-and-run collision at Western and Leighton Avenue in South Los Angeles.

The collision occurred on February 26, 2006 at about 2:25 AM, when the driver of a 1993 Infinity struck 34-year-old Jesus Brauvo and a second male Hispanic while they were walking across Western Avenue. The impact of the vehicle threw Brauvo into the air. He landed in the street against a parked van. The second man was thrown onto the car windshield.

Both pedestrians were taken to a local hospital where Brauvo died from head injuries. The second victim was listed in stable condition.

The driver of the vehicle is described as a male Black, 5'10, 18-20 years old. The three passengers were described as Black, one man, and two women.

The identity of the second male Hispanic will not be revealed until a family member has been notified.
