Topping Off Ceremony for Hollenbeck Replacement Police Station

"Topping Off" Ceremony for the Hollenbeck Replacement Police Station's reaching 50%+ Milestone

When:

Boyle Heights, CA

Why:
A "topping off ceremony" is typically done by the contractor for
personnel involved in the project. The name comes from when the
building is about 50% completed.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Hollenbeck Replacement Police Station will serve the Hollenbeck communities and will house the Patrol Division, Detectives, Community Relations, Property Section, Administrative offices, Records Unit and more.

PROPOSITION Q
Hollenbeck Replacement Station is being built with funding from Proposition Q. On March 5, 2002, the voters in the City of Los Angeles approved a Citywide Public Safety Bond Measure, for $600 million dollars to improve, renovate, expand, and construct Public Safety (Police-Fire-Paramedic) Facilities. Hollenbeck Replacement Station is one of ten Prop Q projects currently under construction across the City, including police stations, jails and the new Emergency Operations Center.

PROJECT LOCATION
The project is located at 2111 East 1st Street. This is located on East 1st Street, between the I-5 Freeway and Soto in Boyle Heights. The construction site is at the northwest corner of Chicago and 1st Streets with parking on Chicago, north of 1st Street.
