On February 15, 2014, the Los Angeles Coroner’s Office listed Mr. Major’s death as a homicide, by strangulation. On Tuesday, February 18, 2014, members of the FBI/LAPD Fugitive Task Force located and arrested 44 year-old Scott Kratlian, also known as Scott Porter.  On February 20, 2014, the District Attorney filed murder charges (187 PC) against the suspect and he will be arraigned today.  

Los Angeles:  LAPD West Bureau Homicide Detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing information on the murder of 82-year-old Harry Major.

On Wednesday, February 12, 2014, around 7:20 p.m., LAPD Hollywood Area Patrol officers responded to a radio call of a death investigation at 1400 N. block of Vista Street. When the officers entered the residence they found the body of Harry Major. Los Angeles Fire Department rescue personnel responded and pronounced the victim dead.

An undetermined death investigation was conducted by LAPD West Bureau Homicide detectives.
