Pedestrian Hit by Two Vehicles Dies at Scene NR14076sm

Van Nuys: Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Valley Traffic Division detectives are investigating a traffic collision that left a man dead.

On Friday, February 21, 2014, around 9:35 p.m., Valley Traffic officers responded to Victory Boulevard and Densmore Avenue. When the officers arrived they discovered 18-year-old Michael Joel Alvarez laying in the westbound lane of Victory Boulevard, just west of Densmore Avenue.

The Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded and pronounced Alvarez dead at the scene.

The investigation revealed Alvarez intentionally laid himself down on the number one, west bound lane of Victory Boulevard, near Densmore Avenue. Alvarez was struck by a newer model silver 4 door sedan, possibly a Honda Accord, and was struck a second time by a late 90’s model brown Honda Accord.  Both vehicles stopped momentarily, and where last seen westbound Victory Boulevard.
