Captain III Joseph Curreri assumed command of Foothill Area on February 10, 2006. Captain Curreri has been a member of the Los Angeles Police Department since 1974. He has held a variety of patrol, investigative and staff assignments throughout his career.
Joe Curreri has held the rank of Captain since 1989. He has had four previous commands prior to his appointment as Foothill's Area Commanding Officer. His most recent assignment was as the Commanding Officer of Devonshire Area, a command he held for the past eight years. He has also served as the Commanding Officer of Anti-Terrorist Division, the Commanding Officer of the Major Violator's Section of Narcotics Group and the Commanding Officer of Northeast Patrol Division.
Captain Curreri pledges his commitment to promote the efforts of and work closely with the members of the Foothill community, the community based service organizations, elected officials to reduce crime and enhance the quality of life for all law abiding individuals throughout the Foothill Area.
