Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Departmentis seeking the assistance of the public in identifying a thief who is suspected of twice robbing a Sylmar area Dry cleaning store-and being video taped in the process.
On Friday, December 31, 2004, LAPD personnel will be holding a news conference detailing the crime spree of a male suspect who has targeted the same dry cleaning business by threatening the clerk with a weapon and fleeing with the store’s cash. The robberies took place on November 28, 2004 and December 17, 2004, in the 13000 block of Gladstone Avenue.
Foothill Division Detective Eric O. Jones said, "This suspect is extremely dangerous. He has threatened the clerks with scissors and again with a screwdriver. This suspect is also known to have robbed four other businesses in the City of San Fernando and all of the clerks were female. This man will strike again and we want him in custody."
LAPD detectives will supply a copy of the surveillance video at the press conference and a Spanish speaker will be available.
