"9 Year-Old Escapes Robbery Attempt"
 

Los Angeles: On September 30, 2002, at 7:30 a.m., a nine year-old boy was accosted while walking to school in the area of Montague Street and Gullo Avenue, in Pacoima. The suspect restrained the boy from behind while asking for money. When the boy stated that he had none, the suspect brandished a knife and told the boy that he was going to take him way. The boy managed to break free and elude the suspect.
The suspect is described as a male Black, with a shaved head and a goatee, approximately 5’ 7", 170 lbs., 18/20 years old. The suspect appeared somewhat dirty and possibly had a tattoo at the nape of his neck.
A composite of the suspect is pending.
