Los Angeles: On Wednesday, October 17, 2001 at approximately 9:50 p.m., Los Angeles Police Department Foothill Area patrol officers responded to an "Unknown Trouble" radio call at the Chalet Liquor store, on the 14000 block of Hubbard Street in Sylmar.
Entering the neighborhood business, officers discovered the storeowner had been shot to death, Ramez Younan, a 50 year-old resident of Grenada Hills, was killed by an unknown suspect.
On August 2, 2002, Los Angeles City Councilman Alex Padilla successfully petitioned the LA City Council for a $ 25,000 reward for information leading to the apprehension and conviction of those responsible for the death of Ramez Younan.
Family members of Victim Ramez Younan will be present at the press conference. A photo of Victim Younan will be available to the media.
