Detectives Search for Pedophile in The Sylmar Area

Foothill Detectives, Major Assault Crimes Unit, is handling a multiple victim child annoying case. From Friday, March 5, 1999 to the present we have had nine (9) victims and four (4) separate incidents where the suspect described as a male, Hispanic, black hair, unknown height, approximately 200 pounds, 25 to 35 years of age, parked his vehicle in and around school areas and waits for victims to pass. The suspect while seated in his vehicle with his pants removed, opens the door, and calls to the victims. The suspect then exposes himself to the victims while masturbating.

These crimes have occurred at Olive Vista Elementary School, Sylmar High School and Sylmar Elementary School, in the Sylmar area.

The suspect has been seen in two vehicles: a Blue Toyota pick up truck; and a yellow large unknown make/model work type pickup truck.

On Thursday, March 11, 1999 at 4:00 P.M., Foothill Detectives will hold a press conference at Foothill Police Station, 12760 Osborne St., Pacoima, CA. Information and a composite of the suspect will be distributed.
