"Wife Arrested for Attempt Murder of Husband"

Sun Valley – On Wednesday, June 21, 2000, at approximately 4:00 a.m., Foothill Patrol Officers responded to an Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Shots Fired call at 11080 Fenway Street. Upon arrival, officers observed the victim, Alexander Molina, who relayed that the suspect was his wife, Lynne Molina, 45 years of age. The suspect was still at the residence and she had pointed a gun at the victim and threatened to kill him. The victim and the suspect struggled over the gun when the suspect fired one round missing the victim. The victim managed to escape and notify police.

Upon officer’s presence, suspect exited the residence holding a handgun. Officers requested the suspect to surrender. The suspect failed to comply and maintained control of the handgun. Officers fired four bean bag rounds at the suspect but, the suspect refused to surrender and maintained control of the gun and retreated back into her residence. Patrol officers requested SWAT officers to respond. Upon SWAT’s arrival, suspect surrendered without any further incident.

Suspect was taken into custody and booked at Van Nuys jail for attempt murder with $1,000,000.00 bail.
