Wireless Camera System Goes Live in LAPD’s Foothill Area

WHY:
In June 2008, based on a request made by Councilmember Richard Alarcon, the Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of Los Angeles approved funding for a wireless security camera system in the Pacoima area of Los Angeles.

The surveillance camera system is now fully operational.
VISUALS:
Immediately following the News Conference, media personnel will be invited to monitor the cameras.  Television news personnel will also be welcome to send a crew to the camera coverage area.  Camera crews will be allowed to enter the Watch Commanders office and film news personnel in the camera coverage area.
