Sun Valley: Two LAUSD officers involved in a traffic collision in the area of Arleta Avenue north of Roscoe Boulevard were seriously injured.
On Friday, August 1, 2014, around 8:15 a.m., officers from the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) Police Department were traveling northbound Arleta Avenue in their black and white police vehicle when they collided with the rear of a privately owned dump truck. The officers were not en route to an emergency call.
Both officers sustained serious injuries and were transported to a local hospital, where they are listed in serious but stable condition. The driver of the dump truck was also transported to a local hospital for observation.
