All applications for payment of reward must be submitted within 60 days of the date of the incident. The processing of this application is contingent upon confirmation of conviction or final adjudication. The LAPD must transmit a report to the City Council setting forth the information received, the name of the person providing such information, and its recommendation for payment of a reward. After the LAPD receives such confirmation, it may take a minimum of 8-10 weeks before you receive any monetary award. The City Council has the sole discretion to approve the payment of a reward to an applicant.
All information requested on the application must be obtained by you. The City cannot insert this information for you once you have submitted your application. You may contact the arresting officer for assistance on how to obtain this information. Keep a copy for your records. In addition, the City is not liable for any personal injury or suffering as a result of apprehension of a person committing graffiti.
