Detectives are Looking for a Murder Suspect NR12485cj

Los Angeles: LAPD Harbor Area Homicide Detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing information on the murder of 18-year-old Anthony Mathew Hyman.

On October 22, 2012, around 8:10 a.m., LAPD Harbor Area patrol officers responded to a shooting call in the 1300 block of East Cruces Street.  When the officers arrived they found  Hyman in a car unresponsive. LAFD Rescue personnel responded and pronounced Hyman dead.

Investigators believe Hyman was in his car in the alley when unknown suspect(s) approached him and shot him multiple times.  The suspect(s) then ran away from the scene.  There is no suspect information at this time.

Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Harbor Area Homicide Detectives Patricia Batts or David Alvarez at 310-726-7889, or 310-726-7879.  During non-business hours or on weekends, calls should be directed to 1-877-LAPD-24-7 (1-877-527-3247). Anyone wishing to remain anonymous should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477).  Tipsters may also contact Crime Stoppers by texting to phone number 274637 (C-R-I-M-E-S on most keypads) with a cell phone.  All text messages should begin with the letters “LAPD.” Tipsters may also go to www.lapdonline.org, and click on "Anonymous Web Tips.”
