Volunteers from throughout the Los Angeles financial sector have responded to a “call to action” to provide over 1,000 LAPD Youth Explorers and Magnet Academy students from across the City with a full day of critical financial training on managing money and credit.

“This summit is being offered at a time of declining economic conditions and will give the students an enhanced perspective concerning how this situation affects their lives and their community,” said Assistant Chief Earl Paysinger.

The LAPD has teamed with Ms. Forescee Hogan-Rowles of the Community Financial Resource Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing low cost financial services and counseling for residents and businesses in low and moderate income communities of Los Angeles County.

Assistant Chief Paysinger will also introduce the newly appointed LAPD Explorer Command Staff.  For the first time in the history of the LAPD Explorer Program, the Department has appointed a Chief Explorer, six Explorer Commanders and the Executive Advisory Council.
