Man Shot and Killed While Driving His Car

Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department Harbor homicide detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect(s) who involved in a shooting early this morning in Wilmington.

The shooting happened shortly after 1 a.m.  According to investigators, 38-year-old Roberto Garcia-Gudino was driving in his car southbound in the 1200 block of Frigate Avenue with a passenger in the passenger seat.  A possible burgundy colored Toyota pulled along the driver side of the victim’s car and a suspect(s) began shooting into the victim’s car.  Garcia-Gudino was shot in the upper torso and continued driving southbound until the car collided into a street light.

Paramedics responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where he died from his gunshot wounds.  The passenger was not hit by the gunfire.

Detectives have not obtained any suspect description and the motive of the shooting is undetermined.
