Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle; Dies at Hospital

Los Angeles: On Sunday, February 16, 2003 at approximately 11:50 p.m., a fatal, vehicle versus pedestrian, traffic collision occurred on Highland Avenue north of Franklin Avenue in the Hollywood Area.
The victim, Mikhail Gankin, a 54 year-old male White, was crossing eastbound mid-block between two controlled intersections when the vehicle traveling southbound on Highland Avenue, struck and injured Gankin. The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene.
Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics transported Gankin to a local hospital where he died as a result of the massive injuries he sustained from the collision.
The vehicle involved was Infinity Q45. No arrest has been made at the time however, the investigation is on going.
