Paul Reubens Surrenders to Police

Los Angeles: In November 2001, Los Angeles Police Detectives received information from a juvenile who alleged acts of a sexual nature against actor Paul Reubens. As a result of the allegations, Hollywood Area detectives served a search warrant on Paul Reubens’ residence. Numerous items were seized during the search.

Following the seizure, the investigation was assigned to detectives in Juvenile Division’s Sexually Exploited Child Unit. For several months, detectives conducted an extensive investigation and review of the evidence.

On November 15, 2002, the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office filed one misdemeanor count of 311.11(a) PC (Possession of Child Pornography) and a warrant was issued for Mr. Reubens’ arrest. On the same date, Mr Reubens surrendered to investigating officers at Hollywood Division. Mr. Reubens was booked on the misdemeanor warrant and was released on $20,000.00 bail. Mr. Reubens was cited to Division 83 on December 19, 2002, for arraignment.
