Why:
This operation will be conducted in an effort to reduce the property damage, injury, and death attributed to drunk drivers. Impaired drivers are responsible for taking a life every 30 minutes. Funding for this check-point is provided by the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration.
The checkpoint will serve to remind the community of the dangers of drinking and driving and the importance of using designated drivers.
