Search Warrant Served on Commercial Building on Hollywood Boulevard NR18238ma

September 21, 2018

Hollywood: Los Angeles Police Department served a search warrant for narcotics and weapons violations related to criminal activity at a commercial building in the 6300 block of Hollywood Boulevard.

Beginning in June 2018, Hollywood Area officers became aware of illegal occupancy and criminal activity at a vacant commercial building in the 6300 block of Hollywood Boulevard. Officers had received information from community members who were concerned about the possibility of narcotics sales happening in and around the building. In June, officers went to the building and fewer than 20 people were told they needed to vacate the premise. Hollywood Area officers contacted the property owner to attempt to work with him to secure the building and prevent access by unauthorized individuals. Officers continued to monitor the area and since June have documented narcotics sales and weapons violations. In addition to the narcotics and weapons violations, officers who were aware there was no electricity in the building, saw wiring and cords which concerned them about the safety of the building. Based on the criminal violations, officers obtained a search warrant for the location from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

On September 12, 2018 at 3:00 a.m., the Los Angeles Police Department Metropolitan Division, Special Weapons and Tactics team went to the building and removed 66 people, 60 adults and 6 juveniles. Hollywood officers searched the building and found one rifle and one shotgun. After the search was completed, the building was secured to prevent people from gaining access.

Everyone in the building, 66 people, were cited for trespassing. Of those 66 people, two of them were also arrested for 11366 Health and Safety code (Operating a Drug House), five people were booked on a probation or parole hold, and five people were booked for felony warrants not related to the investigation at the building.

Additionally, Los Angeles City Attorney Mike Feuer filed 25 criminal charges against Mehdi Boulour, owner of the commercial building at 6360 Hollywood Blvd., for various alleged building code violations and fire code violations. “Our office continues to work to prevent a tragedy like the Oakland Ghost Ship fire from happening here,” said Los Angeles City Attorney Mike Feuer. “Our actions at this location are just part of our sustained effort to target properties we allege pose a public safety threat.
