Captain McClure was born in Montebello, California, in 1961. He was raised in the San Gabriel Valley and attended school in Hacienda Heights. He received his A.A. Degree from L.A. City College in the Administration of Justice. He is currently attending Cal State Los Angeles working towards his B.S. Degree in Criminal Justice.
Captain McClure joined the Los Angeles Police Department in 1980 as a Police Student Worker. In October 1981, Captain McClure joined the ranks of the LAPD and was assigned to the Academy. As a police officer Captain McClure worked Central, Wilshire and Southwest Areas. He was assigned to Metropolitan Division for seven years prior to his promotion to Sergeant. Captain McClure was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in December 1993. As a Sergeant Captain McClure worked Southeast, Wilshire and Northeast Areas. He was assigned to Narcotics Division for six years prior to his promotion to Lieutenant. He was promoted to Lieutenant in February 2003. He worked Northeast Patrol, Northeast Detectives, Force Investigation Division and Consent Decree Bureau. Captain McClure was promoted to the rank of Captain in May 2006.
During Captain McClure’s 25 years of service he has worked a variety of assignments including patrol, detectives, narcotics, gangs, Metropolitan K-9 handler and Adjutant.
Captain McClure is a lifelong resident of Southern California and currently resides in the city of La Verne with his wife and their two daughters. He is very active in his community with his children’s sports activities. He is a past member of the California Narcotics Officers Association and a current member of the Hispanic Law Enforcement Administrators (HLEA).
