Officer Brian Brown Information and Memorial

Officer Brian Brown was murdered in the line of duty on November 29, 1998. Officer Brown became the third Los Angeles Police Officer killed in 1998, and the 191st LAPD officer to die in the line of duty since 1907.

Officer Brown joined the LAPD on September 5, 1995. He worked patrol assignments in Central, Van Nuys, and 77th Divisions before being promoted to Training Officer and transferring to Pacific Division on October 25, 1998.

A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Brown earned a Purple Heart for injuries sustained while rescuing
injured members of his unit during a fire fight in Somalia.
