Established in 1979, the Los Angeles Police Centurions are the one of the premier teams in the National Public Safety Football League. As one of 21 teams in the league, the Centurions have enjoyed tremendous success, with 4 National Championships in their existence.
The team consists of police officers who practice, travel, and play games on their own personal time and finances in an effort to raise money for charity. In 1981 the Centurions formed a non-profit organization and officially adopted the Blind Children’s Center of Los Angeles as their charity. Over the past 29 years, the Centurions have donated over $500,000 to the Blind Children’s Center of Los Angeles and other charities.
With the 2009 season just around the corner, the team is holding practices, running conditioning drills, installing plays on offense, and developing defensive schemes, all leading up to the season opener. The squad is primed and ready to make a run at another National Public Safety Football League Championship.
