|Rhonda Sims-Lewis re-joined the Los Angeles Police Department on July 11, 2005, as a Police Administrator III and Commanding Office of the Administration and Technical Services Bureau. The Bureau oversees over 1200 sworn and civilian employees engaged in a wide variety of administrative and support functions in the Department, including:
Mrs. Sims-Lewis was formally with the Los Angeles Police Department's Internal Affairs Division as the Department's first "Civilian Advocate." Her duties included conducting both sworn Boards of Rights and civilian Civil Service Hearings. Additionally, she serviced as the Assistant Commanding Officer of Fiscal Operations Division, responsible for coordinating and preparing the Department's annual budget.
In addition to her work experience in the Los Angeles Police Department, over her 21 year career with the City of Los Angeles, Mrs. Sims-Lewis has worked for a variety of other City Departments, including, the Community Development Department, the Department of General Services, the City Administrative Office and the Personnel Department. Most recently, in the Personnel Department, she served as an Assistant General Manager responsible for citywide employment testing and selection processes, as well as City-wide Equal Employment Opportunity and Employment Training and Development functions.
Mrs. Sims-Lewis holds a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Psychology and a Masters of Business Administration degree, both acquired at the University of California, Irvine.
Mrs. Sims-Lewis is married with two children and is a long-time resident of the San Fernando Valley.
