Responsibilities of the Public Relations Unit

The Public Relations Unit is responsible for the preparation and dissemination of materials regarding LAPD activities for informational or educational purposes. These include:

• Collect, assemble and distribute a monthly newsletter, The Beat
• Prepare statistical materials for various governmental agencies and the public.
• Respond to the public regarding quarterly crime stats in various area.
• Assist in special events.

Public Relations Unit Personnel

• Coordinate Department's Spanish language media campaign.
• Prepare internal commincations from the Chief of Police to the rank and file.
