Transit Liason Unit
 
 
The Transit Liaison Unit addresses all concerns that the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority has regarding any of their construction projects and addresses citizen complaints regarding noise levels, traffic problems and other safety hazards at construction sites. The Officer in Charge is a member of the Fire, Life and Safety Committee, and Third Party Coordination Committees for construction projects. He ensures that all construction within the City complies with Section 41.40 of the Los Angeles Municipal Code and ensures proper variances are obtained when necessary. He is also responsible for the development of specific contingency plans for all Los Angeles Police Department Areas affected by transit projects regarding police response, personnel needs, public crime prevention education and related issues. Sergeant II Vance S. Bjorklund is the Officer in Charge of the Transit Liaison Unit.
