North Hollywood Detectives Investigate Homicide Case

LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE
Monday, January 4, 1999

On January 2, 1999, at approximately 10:30 a.m., North Hollywood patrol officers responded to a "Murder Investigation" call in the 11100 block of Valerio Street in Sun Valley.

Upon arrival they were directed to a garage to the rear of the single-family residence where they discovered the body of a male, Hispanic, approximately 25 years of age, dead from a gunshot wound to his head. Subsequent investigation revealed that an unknown suspect had shot the victim sometime in the early morning hours.

The victim was not discovered until 10:30 a.m. by the residents of the house who had walked to the backyard to feed the chickens. The person who was renting the garage has not been located and the motive for the killing has not been determined.

The identity of the deceased has not been established.
