LAPD "SCUD" Detail Targets the Hollywood Area

On Saturday and Sunday, January 22-23, 1999, from 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., the Los Angeles Police Department's Traffic Safety "Save Communities From Unsafe Drivers" (SCUD) Detail was enforced in the Hollywood Area.

The SCUD Detail targets on street criminals, vehicular traffic violators, and drivers under the influence of control substances including alcohol. During this detail, officers made 15 arrests, impounded 54 vehicles and cited 32 vehicular traffic violators.

Composed mainly of LAPD's reserve officers and supported by uniform police officers, the SCUD Detail is ran by LAPD's West Traffic Division and rotates periodically between Hollywood, Wilshire, Pacific and West Los Angeles Areas.

The next scheduled detail will be in the Wilshire Area on Saturday and Sunday, January 30-31, 1999 from 6:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.
