Van Nuys Area Detectives in Search of a Sexual Assault Suspect

LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE
Wednesday, January 20, 1999

On Monday, January 18, 1999 at approximately 10:30 p.m., the suspect entered a sports club in the 5900 block of Sepulveda Blvd in Van Nuys and attempted to sexually assault a member inside the facility. The victim screamed for help, and the suspect ran from the club.

Witnesses gave chase until the suspect produced a handgun, at which time he entered a white vehicle and fled the location. The suspect was last seen driving the vehicle in the area of Oxnard Street and Vesper Avenue. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 5'2", 130 pounds, 18-20 years of age.
