Man Dies of Gunshot Wounds

 

Hollywood - On January 4, 2001, at approximately 9:45 p.m., Hollywood officers responded to a radio call of "shots fired" at 5600 block of La Mirada Avenue. When they arrived, they observed a male Armenian lying in his driveway, victim to multiple gunshot wounds. Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel transported the victim to Cedars Sinai Hospital. The victim failed to respond to treatment and expired as a result of his wounds.

Witnesses stated they heard numerous gunshots and observed a single male running from the location. The victim was alone on his driveway at the time of the incident. No witnesses have been located who could shed light on what precipitated the shooting. The motive for the shooting is undetermined at this time.

The suspect was described as possibly a male Hispanic, in his early 20s, 5-5 to 5-8, 150 to 190 pounds, wearing a dark sweatshirt and sweat pants. He was last seen running north on St. Andrews Place.

The victim has been identified as Khoren Broutian, 36 years of age, a Hollywood resident.
